Happy New Year! (A Whole Lot of Ifs)

Bobbi Brown, Arden B, RJ Graziano, Whiting & Davis

This is the outfit I would want to wear tonight IF:

a. IF I was not pregnant a.k.a. IF I was skinny.
b. IF I was actually going somewhere tonight.
c. IF I still went out & did fabulous things w/ friends a.k.a. we all have little kids and don't really do anything anymore.
d. IF I had the money to buy an outfit like this.

That's a whole lot of Ifs!!

What are you doing tonight?

Chalk board Walls In My Future

I LOVE chalkboards!

When I was a kid I had a big old school chalkboard & I used it all the time!
(Wish I knew where that thing got to!)

I am planning on painting a large part of both
my kids rooms with chalkboard paint
(Pics to come) and here is some inspiration I found:

How could you not be inspired to create in this room?

This pic is my favorite! Doesn't it look like so much fun!

Why not paint the whole room?

I also love the idea of doing their closet doors.

Not sure exactly what I will end up doing, but I will share it with you (when I get around to doing it that is!)

vintage number tags

I saw these awesome vintage number tags from Poppytalk over at It's Simple Love & had to share. I am not sure exactly how I will use them....yet, but I love them!

"Whisper Stories in my Ear" Audiobook Challenge Update

If you read my previous post you know I accepted The Bookworms Audio Book Challenge. Now I am back with an update!

The Challenge is to listen to 12 Audiobooks... and I have already chosen a few I want to listen to for the 2011 "Whisper Stories in my Ear" Audiobook Challenge!

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare, Read by Jennifer Ehle.
"When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What's more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own." (Goodreads description)

The Truth About Forever by by Sarah Dessen, Read by Stina Nielsen
"Sixteen-year-old Macy Queen is looking forward to a long, boring summer. Her boyfriend is going away. She's stuck with a dull-as-dishwater job at the library. And she'll spend all of her free time studying for the SATs or grieving silently with her mother over her father's recent unexpected death. But everything changes when Macy is corralled into helping out at one of her mother's open house events, and she meets the chaotic Wish Catering crew. Before long, Macy joins the Wish team. She loves everything about, the work and the people. But the best thing about Wish is Wes—artistic, insightful, and understanding Wes—who gets Macy to look at life in a whole new way, and really start living it." (Goodreads description)
Willow by Julia Hoban, Read by Kim J. Ulrich
"Seven months ago, on a rainy March night, sixteen year- old Willow’s parents died in a horrible car accident. Willow was driving. Now her older brother barely speaks to her, her new classmates know her as the killer orphan girl, and Willow is blocking the pain by secretly cutting herself. But when one boy—one sensitive, soulful boy—discovers Willow’s secret, it sparks an intense relationship that turns the “safe” world Willow has created for herself upside down. Told in an extraordinary fresh voice, Willow is an unforgettable novel about one girl’s struggle to cope with tragedy, and one boy’s refusal to give up on her." (Goodreads description)
Infinite Days by Rebecca Maizel, Read by Justine Eyre.
"Lenah Beaudonte is, in many ways, your average teen: the new girl at Wickham Boarding School, she struggles to fit in enough to survive and stand out enough to catch the eye of the golden-boy lacrosse captain. But Lenah also just happens to be a recovering five-hundred-year-old vampire queen. After centuries of terrorizing Europe, Lenah is able to realize the dream all vampires have -- to be human again. After performing a dangerous ritual to restore her humanity, Lenah entered a century-long hibernation, leaving behind the wicked coven she ruled over and the eternal love who has helped grant her deep-seated wish." (Goodreads descpription)
